Honours are even after a last-gasp Rowe try

L’ghborough S.36

NOTHING could separate these two sides at the end of an absorbing contest.

The key was the character showed throughout the game, despite Luctonians building up a lead with the game entering the stages.

Loughborough started the better team with two quick tries from Rhys Hulse and Jack Howells after great build-up play.

Luctonians answered in style, running in three unanswered tries despite pressure from Loughborough.

The Students, however, wrestled back momentum with a score through Tom Rowe after great work from Tayo Adegemile, making the scores 19-19 with not even 25 minutes gone.

Luctonians scored just before half-time to take them into the sheds with the lead.

The Students came back out and started building pressure again.

But it took 15 minutes of pressure for it to tell, with Oscar Daniel going over.

For the first time since the early stages, the hosts took the lead with a converted try.

Luctonians then scored to retake the lead, before another try from Tom Rowe in the final play of the game offered a chance for the win, but the conversion went wide, which meant that both teams shared the spoils of the day.
