REGARDING the new 20 minute red card penalty, I feel that 20 minutes is a tad longer than is necessary, and creates an unfair advantage to the opposition for a quarter of the match.
I understand that the issue is to penalise the transgressor, that is only fair, but as I understand it, said player loses the right to continue with the game. He will be substituted after the allotted time and that should (to my mind, anyway) be enough of a handicap to his team, to lose a first choice player.
