secured victory over Rotherham to bounce back from last week’s first defeat of the season.

The hosts were ahead as early as the sixth minute when Will Hunt released Joe Green, to score under the posts, converted by Hunt.

The visitors were soon level as Charles Capps dived over. Richard Hayes converted.

The Titans took the lead in the 23rd minute as they went through phase after phase for Tomasi Tanumi to make it 7-14 at half-time.

The second 40 commenced started with the Dogs giving away a penalty, with Hayes slotting over.

But Sale slowly hauled themselves back into the game and closed the gap with eight minutes remaining on the clock. Stone Priestley-Nangle blasted through a gap in the defence and Hunt added the extras.

The match was set up for a grandstand finish and when Sale earned a kickable penalty in the last minute, Hunt opted for the corner.

This was to prove an inspired decision as the forwards secured the line-out and muscled their way to the line, with help from the backs, to propel Josh Brown over. Hunt kicked a fine conversion to put the icing on the cake.
