Simon Halliday believes that the RFU is duty-bound to find a resolution for the Championship clubs because the play-off agreement has been accepted already by all the main bodies involved in English rugby.
“It was approved by the RFU Council, and the RFU Board, and is written into the PGP. Broadcast partners also expect it to be honoured because it is part of new contracts, and will surely be supported by Sport England, the Government, and by the new PRB (Professional Rugby Board)”.
