GISELLE Mather has been appointed Great Britian women’s head coach following her departure from Trailfinders.
World Cup winner Mather, who won 34 caps for England, said: “I am incredibly excited to take on this role. Women’s rugby is on the rise globally, and to be a part of that trajectory and development at an international level is a fantastic opportunity.
“I look forward to working with the talented group of players that we have and pushing the boundaries of what we can achieve as a team.”
Mather, who previously coached Wasps women and London Irish men, left her role as director of rugby at Trailfinders last month “due to a difference in philosophy for our second season”, having led the club to a sixth place finish in their first season in the women’s Premiership.
