Clinical Moseley give Lions lesson in finishing

A WARM day at Westleigh Park offered the perfect conditions for running , but it was the strong Moseley pack that eventually ground down a much lighter but spirited side.

The visitors set the tone early on by kicking to a corner and, although the line-out wasn’t won clearly, they managed to regather and Isaac McNulty went over following a number of drives.

Moseley then doubled their lead after 14 minutes when a well-worked set-play from a midfield line-out set Anthony Egodo free to race through to score.

The Lions had already squandered a number of line breaks before eventually converting one after 19 minutes when Charlie Davies bust through and found Joe Brock to go over. Luke Bouchier adding the extras.

A series of infringements from the hosts then saw them go down to 13 men and Moseley capitalised just before the break when another driving line-out resulted in a score for Will Safe. Jack Jolly kicking his third conversion for a 7-21 half-time lead.

The second half was even and although both had chances, the lack of execution meant the scoreline remained the same. A well-deserved win for a clinical Moseley, but the Lions will be ruing their missed opportunities.
