MERTHYR hammered out an early warning to their Premiership rivals that they mean business as they ran in seven tries in a 45-19 win over Neath at The Gnoll.
Neath were stunned by the ferocity of the opening by the visitors as hooker Ellis Shipp ploughed over for two tries and Adam Hoskins and Finn Barrett secured the bonus-point by the break.
But having led 28-0, the Ironmen conceded the next 12 points as Matt Davies and Rhodri Cole crossed for home tries and Steff Williams added a conversion.
