Battling China put down a marker for future

IT WAS always going to be a difficult challenge for this valiant China side as they took on reigning gold medallists New Zealand in the opening game of the quarter-finals.
New Zealand won convincingly 55-5 however an early try from Xinrong Dou meant that China had something to be proud of. With a scoreline so high, there were doubles across the squad from the likes of Sarah Hirini and Mahina Paul.
