THE opening game of the quarter-finals saw a close encounter in a rematch from the Pool as South Africa ground out a 14-7 victory to get revenge against New Zealand.
Tries from Selwyn Davids and Tristan Leyds secured victory, but it was the late Blitzbok defence to hold out from conceding that allowed them to cling on for the win. ever, in classic fashion, the best player in the world Antoine Dupont took all the headlines, scoring the final try for France to secure victory.
