SALE FC made it three wins on the trot as they eclipsed fourth-placed Plymouth Albion at Heywood Road.
The hosts made the perfect start with only a minute on the clock when a kick through went loose behind the whitewash, allowing Mark Dixon to pick up and score the easiest of tries. Tom Curtis converted.
The visitors got on the scoreboard with a 40-metre penalty from full-back Tom Putt and began to dominate possession and territory.
