Alex Mann hadn’t started a single game of regional rugby before this season – now he’s in the Wales Six Nations squad.
It’s been some breakthrough and also a vindication of his decision to choose rugby over football having spent three years on the books of Cardiff City as a youngster.
The all-action flanker, who turned 22 this month, has been called up after making more tackles (114) than any other player in the URC this term, while he’s also a genuine lineout target and offers a point of difference in attack with his quick feet.
