Ewers happy to take on new challenge

For years the imposing figure of Dave Ewers made a habit of steamrollering his way around Premiership pitches up and down the country. He was Rob Baxter’s sizeable ‘wrecking ball’ in an Exeter pack that made quite a name for itself.
A product of the club’s highly successful academy set-up, Ewers racked up 236 appearances for the Devonians before departing last summer for Ulster.
Now, having settled well to life in Belfast with his girlfriend Liv and young son Oden, the 33-year-old forward is aiming to make just as big an impact in his new surroundings.
