Dorking chief Armand Roux says that while the Surrey club is fighting for an unprecedented promotion to National One, they have a more meaningful job to play – helping players that have fallen out of the academy system.
With four professional English clubs going out of business in the past 12 months, leading to around 220 players having their contracts cancelled, as well as academy players and staff being left in the lurch, Roux believes it’s crucial national league clubs help fill the void.
