CLIFTON pressure during the first 30 minutes of this lively early-season encounter seemed to indicate they were heading for a comfortable win.
However, Newport Salop’s second-half setpiece improvements set up a contest from which their hosts eventually emerged as victors, but were denied a try bonus point.
From the kick-off, Clifton forwards and backs combined well and dominated possession to spread the ball wide at every opportunity.
