24 teams likely to line up at USA 2031

World Rugby CEO Alan Gilpin has revealed that they plan to go big in America in 2031 with expansion of the Rugby World Cup to 24 teams under serious consideration.
With the facilities and sporting infrastructure that the United States has to offer, the tournament there has been identified as the best opportunity to bring more countries into the fold.
Also, the hope is that by then the proposed World League will have had the desired effect in making even more tier two countries competitive, especially hosts USA who have failed to qualify for next month’s tournament...
