Durham returned to the Bill Beaumont County Championship after a four-year absence, and picked up their first victory since 2018 with a convincing performance over tryless Northumberland.
With it being the maiden game of this year’s edition, it took a while for both sides to click and build chemistry, but it was Durham who struck first three minutes in through Luke Armstrong’s penalty.
The persistent chance creation would soon reap its rewards, as Durham strengthened their hold on the game, through Kieron Clarke.
