Chiefs coach Ali Hepher felt his side showed plenty of “fight” in their last game of the season without getting the rewards.
He said: “We controlled large parts of the game and were tactically good. The fighting effort was there without getting the actual result we wanted. We chased hard and got a few turnovers.
"Perhaps we chased the game when we didn’t have to. The guys gave everything they had and I can’t fault them for the effort. We just needed to be a bit more decisive and execute better in certain areas.”
