In a shock result, previously undefeated league leaders Saitama Wild Knights lost 44-25 to Shizuoka Blue Revs, snapping their win streak at 14 games from the opening round of the season.
With the exception of forfeit losses under coronavirus safety protocols, Wild Knights had not been beaten since the 2018-19 season.
Tries from Yuya Odo, Alapati Leiua, Malo Tsuitama, Shoji Takuma and Takeshi Hino’s brace was enough to inflict the upset win and move the visitors up to sixth.
