The Drovers had to fight hard to resist the firmest of challenges from an Aberavon side that beat them 24-15 last month.
The league leaders outscored Aberavon seven tries to five and, in doing so, all but assured themselves of a home draw in the play-offs on 14 May.
Llandovery were soon ahead when a closerange scrum made room for wing Rhodri Wall to squeeze over. Aberavon hit back when a kick ahead from scrum-half Iwan Temblett was seized upon by fullback Steff Andrews for a try.
