CRAIG Hammond was a beaming head coach after his Nottingham team had posted a victory by six tries to nil to gain compensation for losing at Ampthill in February.
“We’ve worked hard to improve results and have turned the corner in recent weeks,” the Nottingham boss said in reference to the struggles of a season which has only brought seven wins.
Hammond rated this win over a much-changed Ampthill team as the best of the season which has seen Nottingham, following a good start, slip down the table.
