Hartpury claimed a 28-23 away win over fellow play-off hopefuls Cardiff Met to keep in touching distance with the top four.
Following captain Winfield’s 13 points from the tee, the game was finely poised going into the last ten minutes before Hartpury centre Iestyn Galton crossed for the winning try in the 74th minute.
Fifth-placed Hartpury now sit just one point shy of a home playoff spot whilst Cardiff Met slip to seventh following four consecutive losses.
