I WAS interested to read Jon Newcombe’s article last week about the state of leagues regarding walkovers.
I can comment on the case of United Bristol Hospitals team, who play in the same league as St Brendan’s Old Boys, featured in his article.
The UBH team could not play their first three games, due to the fact students had not returned from their summer break. They asked for these games to be moved to the many free weekends, which are fixtured to allow catch up games, but were told the games could only be moved in the case of ground problems.
