Rotherham inflicted a first defeat of the season on Tynedale in a much more competitive encounter than the scoreline suggests.
The Titans did the spadework in the opening quarter, running up a 31-0 lead, but the visitors made them graft hard for points after that and “won” the second half. The home team broke through inside two minutes when a lineout steal ended with Corben Ollivent going in at the corner. Ollivent then turned provider, off-loading for Callum Bustin to dot down next to the sticks.
