TYNEDALE earned bragging rights with a narrow win at north-east rivals Blaydon.
The hosts may have scored more tries, but indiscretions cost them dear, with Jake Rodgers’ boot ultimately proving decisive for Tynedale.
The game started at a frenetic pace and the first score came in the first minute, with winger Toby Ferguson touching down. Rodgers converted.
Blaydon’s response was immediate as Danny Gray controlled a maul from the back and went over, with John Clarkson kicking the two points.
