WITH Premiership clubs’s finances coming under severe scrutiny and the RFU’s resources, as Jeff Probyn writes, fully stretched, what on earth makes Nick Cain and Ryan Burrows think that further central funding should be made available to Championship clubs?
The idea that the bulk of second tier clubs can be other than semi-professional is, quite frankly, preposterous, unless new and sizeable sources of commercial revenue for the Championship can be found.
