GARETH Thompson scored a 77th minute interception winner as Welsh Premiership side Merthyr secured an impressive victory at the Butts Park arena as they saw off Championship side Coventry.
The visitors took the lead as patient build up from the forwards resulted in a neat finish by Adam Hoskins in the corner.
Merthyr’s lead was extended just two minutes later as another good set of attacking play led to Sam Jones dotting down.
