Gloucester are poised to win the race to land Zach Mercer on a four-year contract when his deal with Montpellier runs out at the end of next season.
Back row Mercer has agreed to the deal with the Cherry and Whites, allowing him to become a member of Eddie Jones’s World Cup squad in 2023.
Blindside reported in May that Gloucester were the front runners in the race to land the former Bath No.8 after Jones made it clear that he wanted him to return to the Premiership.
