It’s no shock as Chile qualify

READERS of this column will not be surprised at Chile’s “shock” win over USA in the second leg of their America World Cup qualifier which sees them take their place in Pool D alongside England, Argentina, Japan and Samoa in France next autumn.
The Chileans have been building steadily with three decent outlets for their better players.
First and foremost is the professional franchise Selknam in Santiago which plays in the Super Liga Americana de Rugby (SLAR) which means that the national team can for four months of the year train full time as a club.
