England have landed in a tough pool for next weekend’s Commonwealth Games 7s, but Tom Bowen believes it’s a blessing in disguise as ‘if you want to do well you’ve got to beat the best teams, so there’s no time like starting in the pool stages’.
Tony Roque’s England face 2018 gold medallists New Zealand, Samoa and Sri Lanka in Pool A. However, with the All Blacks currently in ninth and Samoa in 10th both sides have underperformed in the World Series and are below England in the standings.
