SALE director of rugby Alex Sanderson was ecstatic with his side’s effort and believes they can be a match for any team in this year’s tournament.
“I guaranteed that we would be better than last week and it was an absolute pleasure to be part of that although it was nerve-wracking,” he said.
“We had the ascendancy up front and despite losing players, we were able to maintain that set piece domination and squeezed them throughout.
“You can have all the tactics in the world but eventually it comes down to heart and we showed plenty of that tonight in a brilliant game.”
