CONNACHT have qualified for the Champions Cup’s knockout stages for the first time after Cardiff were handed a walkover win over Covid-hit Toulouse.
Toulouse’s misfortune now means Connacht cannot finish any lower than eighth in Pool B.
Connacht are currently sixth in the pool standings.
Cardiff ’s 28-0 walkover win moves them to eighth in Pool B with holders Toulouse remaining seventh but in some danger of missing out given that Wasps, Castres and even Stade Francais could move about them.
