I AGREE with Simon Middleton “that the formation of a women’s Lions team is only a matter of time” and I support the idea, but the selection process for the competition is really going to go in England’s favour.
Out of England, Ireland, Wales and Scotland, the first team mentioned are the only team who are professional, while the others are amateur.
England are No 1 in the World Rugby Women’s rankings. I believe that this would make the competition very predictable currently around the areas of team selection, which would be unlike the men’s equivalent.
