PREMIERSHIP stars are set to be caught in the crossfire of English rugby’s latest civil war between their agents and clubs over a decision to make players pay their own agent’s commission.
Traditionally, a club will pick up the tab for agents’ fees, typically between seven and ten per cent when a player moves between clubs.
The more clubs interested in signing a player, the higher the commission an agent can negotiate for himself for doing the deal, and these fees are paid over the length of the deal.
