RONNIE Poulton-Palmer might have attracted the attention of Adrian Stoop at an early stage but the Quins captain wasn’t the only scout to spot his talent.
The 1907 Rugby Football Annual, edited by Charles Alcock, gave him quite a write-up for the previous season when he was playing two years young in the Rugby First XV: “R.W Poulton (10st 3lb): A centre three-quarter of great promise, very fast and has a useful swerve; plays a most unselfish game. His defence is not as strong as it might be.”
