Arrogant Sarries deserved their Cornish pasting

SARACENS’ defeat to Cornish Pirates did not come as a surprise to those of us living in the far south-west and should be a wake-up call to those responsible for the organisation of the professional leagues in England.
Cornwall, home of the current County Champions, has long been a hot-bed of Rugby Union, producing many outstanding players who have gone on to represent England.
The Pirates’ squad last week included five local lads: Robin Wedlake, Jay Tyack, Tom Duncan, Jack Andrew and John Stevens (son of CB ‘Stack’ Stevens).
