THE goverment will pay more than £40m to support grassroots rugby and up to £5.5m to back the launch of the men’s Championship from its Sport Winter Survival Package.
The RFU will distribute a mixture of funding to the community game, in the form of loans and grants.
They will be designed to cover essential survival costs due to the lack of spectators and capital works.
The funding package is:
£22m of loan funding to support community club assets.
£17m of grant and £3m of loan funding to support community clubs.
