THE British and Irish Lions say they will make an early decision whether this year’s tour of South Africa can go ahead amid the pandemic.
A final decision had been expected in March, but Ben Calveley, the Lions managing director, suggested yesterday that date could be brought forward to February.
The tour is due to start in July but could be cancelled or delayed until 2022 as Covid-19 cases surge in South Africa and the UK.
