I was there for Jarrett

JUST been reading Brendan Gallagher’s article on Keith Jarrett’s try in 1967. I was at that match, standing on the south side of Twickenham’s East Stand.
The most remarkable fact to me was not the try, but the conversion, which bounced off the top of the upright. I remember wondering if they would give it or not.
The touch judges, EJ Thomas and DH Easby, had no hesitation putting their flags up. You can now see it on YouTube. Michael Ridley
