Took 11 Test seasons to accumulate 25 Test caps. The selectors said he was too slow – he wasn’t – but his goalkicking could be devastating and certainly coach Mike Davis always wanted him in his England teams. From farming stock and a very useful cricketer who later became Academy coach at Leicester Tigers.
