IT WASN’T pretty but it was professional and proficient as Scotland secured the victory they and their coach Gregor Townsend so badly needed to settle frayed nerves and tempers in the wake of the Finn Russell affair.
Nothing less than a win was going to be acceptable and that, off the back of a strong, stifling defence, is exactly what Scotland delivered.
