Bridgnorth close the gap to hot up table

FOLLOWING the postponement of Sheffield’s match with leaders Bournville, Bridgnorth had an opportunity to close the gap on the tabletoppers - and they duly obliged with a bonus point win to see them narrow the margin at the summit to five points.
On their way to a 34-7 victory at Sandbach there were tries from Mike Penn, Jacob Goulson, Jordan Burgess, George Newman and George Bavuma as they ran riot after the break, making use of the strong wind in their favour.
Josh Brown crossed for the hosts’ only score, which was converted by Mark Bird.
