SARACENS’ owner Nigel Wray did not attend the match due to feeling “uncomfortable” travelling to away grounds in the wake of the club’s punishment for breaching the salary cap.
Mark McCall, the club’s director of rugby, said: “It is a real shame that he doesn’t feel comfortable for whatever reason to come to the away matches at the moment.
“For someone who I believe has given rugby a lot it’s really sad for him not to feel he can come and watch his club play. Hopefully he’ll start to feel differently soon.”
