CARDIFF somehow found a way to get themselves out of jail in the battle of the top two as they extended their unbeaten run to eight games.
Aberavon pushed their hosts so hard they had them reduced to 13 in the second half, James Thomas the first to go before Joe Gatt followed.
The Wizards went in for the kill and came up with a try from wing Steff Andrews to edge their noses back in front at 12-10.
