THE concept that the Premiership titles Saracens won over the last two seasons will be forever tainted by the salary cap verdict handed down by a disciplinary panel is not persuasive.
If there is “no deliberate deception” by the reigning champions it is hard to argue that any of their Premiership opponents over the past three seasons have been cheated out of anything.
Another factor which the disciplinary panel will not have taken into account is that the Premiership salary cap allowance for producing England players – as Saracens do in large numbers – is punitive.
