Merthyr rocked by opening Bridgend blitz

CHAMPIONSMerthyr suffered another away day defeat as Bridgend unleashed a first-half blitz..
Tyler Williams and Ben Mayers-Davies crashed over in the first 40 minutes and Owen Howe added a crucial seven points from the boot to leave Merthyr with a mountain to climb. They fought back with scores from full-back Matthew Jarvis and wing Ashley Norton, but the comeback fell short. The Ravens stole three line-outs, shunted their way to three scrum penalties and two turnovers to lay the foundations for a half-time 17-0 lead.
