POWERFUL attacking combined with calamitous defending resulted in the points being shared, with both sides still looking for their first victories of the season.
A Ben Smith penalty gave Otley the lead after two minutes before the fly-half converted a score by lock Brett Mitchell to put the visitors 10-0 up after 27 minutes.
Scores by lock Graeme Dunn and full-back Rob Parker, plus a Will Haydon-Wood conversion, gave Tynedale a 12-10 interval lead.
