HARLEQUINS scrum-half Danny Care will undergo surgery on an ankle injury sustained during preseason training, ruling him out for eight weeks.
It ends his chances of earning a late England call to Japan and means he will miss the Premiership Cup in September and early October, as well as the start of the Premiership season.
Paul Gustard, Quins head of rugby, said: “We are disappointed to lose ‘DC’ for this period, he’s a key member of the squad and a real talisman in our attack. “But it does gives other members of the squad more opportunity to play.
