I BELIEVE the return of JP Pietersen, Morné Steyn and Ruan Pienaar is of benefit to South African rugby.
There will be an opinion that those players are over the hill and just looking to earn a bit of money back home before they retire.
That may be the case in other scenarios but, in terms of these players, I don’t believe any of them are beyond it from a playing point of view.
They are still playing outstanding rugby in their mid-30s and the people who are going to benefit the most are local players who are playing for the Sharks, Bulls and Cheetahs respectively.
