SEVU Reece ran in two tries as the Crusaders held off the Hurricanes to book their place in the final.
The defending champions were helped by a controversial refereeing call in the dying stages.
With two minutes on the clock, the Hurricanes were in a position to launch an attack but referee Nic Berry called a knock on against scrum-half TJ Perenara.
