A FAMOUSrugby player urinates on a man in a Dublin pub, a crude offence to put it mildly and yet it barely caused a stir outside Ireland. Imagine the outcry had Sean O’Brien been a Premier League footballer and not merely an international flanker who has played 61 Tests for Ireland and the Lions.
The incident, on the weekend of Leinster’s PRO14 title success, smacked of the days when offensive behaviour somehow became an acceptable part of post-match activities.
